Masterclass details:
This Masterclass will focus on the consolidation and practice of topics in the recursion area of study, such as types of recurrence relations, modelling linear growth/decay, the ‘nth’ term rules, and analysis of reducing-balance loans with recurrence relations.

Additionally, we will cover vital skills in the financial maths area of study, whereby content such as using the financial solver, annuities and their applications, perpetuities, investments, and nominal/effective interest rates will be discussed.

This Masterclass is designed to prepare you for the Recursion and Financial Mathematics SAC and will cover:

* The types of recurrence relations
* How to model linear growth and decay
* Rules for nth term in a sequence modelling linear growth or decay
* How to model geometric growth and decay
* Rules for nth term in a sequence modelling geometric growth or decay
* Nominal and effective interest rates
* Analysing reducing-balance loans with recurrence relations
* How to use the Financial solver
* Reducing balance loans and their applications
* Interest-only loans and their applications
* Annuities and their applications
* Perpetuities and their applications
* Annuity investments and their applications

Masterclass Details:

This Masterclass will focus on the consolidation and practice of topics in the functions and relations area of study, such as types of functions, circular functions, inverse functions, trigonometry, and analysis of different types of graphs.

Additionally, we will cover vital skills in calculus, whereby content such as differentiation, second derivatives, trigonometric values, and u-substitution will be discussed.

In this masterclass we’ll be going through a practice SAC designed to get you comfortable for your upcoming applications task.

Together, we will cover:

*Rational functions
*The absolute value function
*Reciprocal circular functions
*Inverse circular functions
*Second derivatives (including applications to concavity)
*Implicit differentiation
*u-Substitution
*Using trigonometric identities to solve integrals
*Finding arc length
*Solving differential equations using separation of variables
…and much more!

You will come away with a really great set of solutions on some really tricky questions and more confidence to how to tackle the SAC.

Note: Specific CAS-related content like syntax, defining functions, etc. will not be covered. This is something to know before the masterclass and you can  ask your teacher about it or google it during or after the lesson.

Masterclass details:

This Masterclass will focus on the consolidation and practice of topics in the functions and relations area of study, such as types of functions (power functions, exponential functions, circular functions etc), inverse functions, rates of change, and equations of tangents to graphs.

Additionally, we will cover vital skills in calculus, including derivatives of simple functions the chain/quotient/product rules, areas under curves, and integrals will be discussed.

This masterclass will cover the topics students usually cover in their first Methods SAC – Functions, Graphs, and Calculus.

In the class, we will use a  practice SAC to show you first hand how to approach the  application task. Since every school is different, unfortunately I won’t be able to cover everything, but you can look forward to:

*Power functions
*Exponential functions
*Circular functions
*Transformations including dilation, reflections, and translations
*Hybrid functions
*Average rates of change
Equations of tangents to graphs
*Derivatives of simple functions
*Chain, quotient, and product rule
*Integrals (including definite!)
*Areas under curves
…and much more!

You will come away with a really great set of solutions on some really tricky questions and more awareness, and confidence, on how to tackle this SAC.

Note: Specific CAS-related content like syntax, defining functions, etc. will not be covered. This is something to know before the masterclass and you can  ask your teacher about it or google it during or after the lesson.

Masterclass details:

This Masterclass will focus on the consolidation and practice of Unit 3 Area of Study 2, being how the yield of a chemical product must be optimised.

Specifically, this will be topics such as:

* rates of reaction
* equilibrium
* electrolysis

…in the context of both SAC and exam preparation.  Additionally, we will revisit basic concepts that Students have learnt in previous years of Chemistry class.

Students attending this session will:

1. Gain greater knowledge of how to answer various types of VCAA and SAC questions.

2. Have the opportunity to work through previous questions.

3. Seek advice on the best way to approach problems in SACs and exams.

4. Explore complex question designs.

…all through the means of interactive activities and discussions.

The skills offered will assist Students in developing a high-level exam capabilities in answering questions with tailored explanations, before moving on to a custom practice SAC designed to facilitate students’ understanding of complex chemical ideas.
